just checking in

It has been a while since I have posted, so I just thought I would do a quick update.

Things are going very well for us. We are adapting quite well to the huge changes that have come to us!

Quinn loves Miles! It took a while, and he still has his jealous fits occasionally, but he loves him! He spends a lot of time just staring at him while he is asleep (that is one of the major pastimes at our house!). He gives him kisses and gentle hugs, and he loves to brush his hair (which has fallen out on top, mostly). Quinn likes to hold Baby Miles (for about ten seconds at a time); he always asks, "Hold it, please?"

Grandma Terri brought Quinn a set of books over the weekend. They are really cute books that teach a little lesson and then ask questions at the end. Quinn really likes them! The funny part of the story it this: One of the books, Seasons, has a picture of a cute little boy on the cover. Quinn gets SO EXCITED about that book because he is absolutely convinced that it is a picture of Dalton on the cover... did I mention the cute little boy on the book is black? So, he calls it his "Dalton book" and gives "Dalton" kisses. It is adorable! I am repeatedly amazed by the super-strong connection Quinn feels to Dalton, even though they are apart twelve out of every fourteen days. Maybe that makes it a little easier to forget how Dalton looks. ;)

Now, a couple pictures of my fellas:

QUESTION:
I need advice; It is my turn this year to splurge a little with our tax returns. I am going to buy myself a new computer since my laptop stopped working and it is a pain in the butt to share Travis' music computer (not because of him, just 'cause I don't want to mess anything up!). I am going to buy a photo editing program to go with it, and I don't have any idea what to get. I want to be able to do a lot of different things with it. I would love to be able to do that effect where it's mostly black and white with a little bit of color in an area of it, and things like that... any suggestions?

Look Alikes

I have mentioned to a few people that I think there is a remarkable resemblance between Miles and Quinn and they have said, "I just don't see it." What!? Really?! Have a look for yourself:

The first picture is Quinn at four weeks and the second is Miles at three weeks (TODAY! ALREADY!!).
Here are a few other pictures I took of Miles this morning: (and by morning I mean around one o'clock in the morning... you know... the only time he is awake and alert for more than a few minutes!)

15 Days Old

Miles is fifteen days old today! It is unbelievable how fast time goes by. I staged a photo-shoot in the living room today, but by the time I had the blanket set up, the baby was fast asleep.

We are having a lot of fun getting to know our sweet little baby! He is very mixed up when it comes to night and day; he sleeps for at least four hours at a time during the day and is up ever hour-and-a-half all night. It has been really nice being able to sleep during the daytime and have Travis here to watch the boys, but that is all coming to an end. Travis is going back to work tomorrow and I will be left alone to stay awake all day in addition to the night.

Quinn is showing more interest in Miles. By that I mean, he has started to acknowledge that there is a baby around. At first he wouldn't even look in his direction, but now he occasionally rubs his head, and twice he has wanted to hold him!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks, but there is nothing more worthwhile in the whole world!
